February 10, 2010It’s time to celebrate the latest successes of the most recent Transitions graduates! I’m happy to announce that the groups who started in October lost a total of 70 inches during the 12-week program, for an average of nearly 6 inches per week. And using another yardstick, we’ve all marveled at the changes in their relationship to food, the amount of exercise they’re doing, and the way they shop, stock their kitchens, cook, and order in restaurants. And, they feel and look so much better than when we started in October.
I’m so proud of them all – I know it hasn’t been easy, what with Thanksgiving and the winter holidays to contend with… on top of real life’s ordinary challenges.
Thank you for sharing your experiences and insights with me and with the others in your group. We all benefited from each other’s generosity of spirit and enthusiasm.
We showcased all of this in our final session, which was a festive, celebratory dinner at the home of one of the group members. The food was pot luck and totally delicious and satisfying. It was perfectly low-glycemic and reflected the things we learned. Next time: let’s add dancing!
In the future we’ll be opening up monthly pot luck dinners to all members of all my groups, as well as to people who are new to Transitions and interested in learning more. I hope you’ll enjoy meeting each other. If you are new, drop me a line and let me know if you’d like to be included in those emails and meet some happy graduates. We’re also planning a spring trip to the New York Botanical garden. Some good walking, there!
In the meantime, here’s the menu for our celebratory dinner. If you’re planning a dinner of your own and you’d like the recipes, just email me and I’ll send them to you.
